The number of people that are avid gardeners in Generation Y seems to be smaller than that of the boomers. While this might just be because Gen Y hasn't reached gardening age, it makes me wonder how people start gardening. Fast food and cigarette companies are notorious for hammering children with advertising so they will become customers in the future. So should we try to get children hooked on gardening, I mean it is better for them that cigarettes and fast food.
Nectar and Company (http://www.nectarandcompany.com) has had an awesome idea of a garden party for kids, which allows kids to interact with plants in a fun environment. So should more of us try this idea or are there other ways to attract kids to gardening? Should there be attractions for kids at all garden centers? Comment with any ideas.
